A Month of Sundays / Van Wert Civic Theatre / 8 PM The play is set in a rest home and revolves around two residents: Cooper, who has voluntarily left his family to avoid the indignity of depending on them, and his friend, Aylott. The friends rely on each other to ward off the effects of aging. The action takes place in Cooper’s room on the first Sunday in April and the first Sunday in May – the days his daughter and son-in-law do their duty and visit! To the painful ritual of Sunday family visits and empty condescension, the two inmates reply with humor and wit, aware that life can only be endured if treated as a comedy. Lie, Cheat & Genuflect / Van Wert Senior Center / 6:30 PM Off Stage Productions offer another of their dinner theatres with this play. The Buckle brothers, Billy and Tom, are in big trouble: Tom's infallible eye for slow horses has drained away all of Billy's savings and he has borrowed from loan shark Pizza Face Petrillo, who now wants his money back or else! There's plenty of money in grandfather Buckle's will, but these two black sheep are pretty sure they'll never see any of that. What else to do but dress Billy up as a nun and have him pose as their cousin who is to inherit the entire fortune. Involve a stuffy young lawyer, a hard drinking, man hungry housekeeper and a trio of beautiful young women, and you have the recipe for a laugh packed farce of twists, turns, puns and pratfalls as Tom strives mightily to compensate for Billy's "habitual" errors. A dinner buffet is served at 6:30 followed by this hilarious comedy. For more information called 419-605-6708
